The Bissell Momentum vacuum is one of the most popular models available today. Normally, if a vacuum cleaner sells well, there is good reason for it. And in the case of the Bissell Momentum, the reason is that it’s a solid performer at a reasonable price. A few of it’s most prominent features include: a 30 ft power cord, a very wide 15 inch cleaning path, extra long hose, four different vacuum attachments, HEPA filter, motorized brush roller, washable filter, 7 height adjustments, and an easy empty dirt container. The current price of this model is $99, which is very reasonable for the amount of features you get.
There are a couple things I would change about the Bissell Momentum vacuum. The first issue I have is that it seems to topple over easily when you are using the hose and attachments. Actually, the hose is a little sub-par itself. Another problem is that when the container gets filled up with carpet fuzz and dirt, you have to stick your hand in there and scrape it out. As with most cheaper vacuums, the Bissell Momentum is made of cheap plastic – not that it breaks or cracks that easily. Overall, I still like this model a lot. I’m giving it a 4 / 5 star rating.
Our Bissell Cleanview Helix review: Finding a good upright vacuum cleaner for not a lot of money can be tricky. Currently priced at $80, the Bissell Cleanview Helix vacuum is one of the most popular models because it is generally considered a good unit. A few of it’s best features include: a 27 ft power cord, three attachment tools and accessories, 5-height adjustment, HEPA filter, a 13.5 inch cleaning path, and a headlight. It’s not the lightest vacuum out there, but at 15.5 lbs, it’s still light enough to drag up and down stairs.
Next, I’ll go over a few things I would change on the Bissell Cleanview Helix vacuum. The first is that the stretch hose is not very stretchy. You can’t go too far from the vacuum with the attachments, or the whole thing will fall over. Another thing I don’t like is that there is no handle in the front. This makes it a little harder to take up and down stairs. I’m also not too keen on the look of this model. It could defintiely have some better style to it. Last thing is that the brush roller does not turn off. Other than those things, I haven’t come across anything negative about the Bissell Cleanview Helix vacuum. Overall, I’m giving it a 4.2 / 5 star rating.
Our Bissell 3130M Easy Vac review:At just under 11 lbs, the Blue Morpho Bissell 3130M vacuum cleaner is super light, yet packs a pretty powerful suction. This particular model is also Energy Star qualified – meaning it meets strict energy use guidelines set up by the government. A few of its most prominent features include: a 20 ft power cord, crevice tool, dusting brush, powerful suction, rotating brushes, HEPA media filter, and a wire-reinforced stretch hose. It works pretty well on all types of flooring, but carpet is probably the one it works best on.
While you can’t really complain about the Bissell 3130M vacuum cleaner’s price tag ($34 at Walmart), there are a few other things that could use improvement. The first is the build quality. I understand that this is a very cheap vacuum, so I can also understand why the build quality may be lagging. Some users also complain about a minor amount of dust leaking out around the edges of the dirt cup. Lastly, there could have been some better attachments. It does come with 2 decent ones, but it would have been nice to have a wide base tool for stairs, etc. I know this may seem like a lot of problems with the Bissell 3130M Easy Vac vacuum, but it really is a great little machine overall. I’m giving it a 4/5 star rating – a lot of it due to the super low price.
My short Bissell ProLite review: At just $150, the Bissell ProLite vacuum cleaner is a bargain. The 12 amp motor gives it sufficient suction for even the thickest carpets. The vacuum is fairly lightweight, but I probably wouldn’t want to carry it up and down stairs too much. The long cord and useful attachments are definitely a bonus with this model. I also must admit, it seems a lot more stylish than competitor vacuums or even other Bissell models. Oh, and the canister is very easy to empty, without being to messy.
There is not that much I found wrong with the Bissell ProLite vacuum. One possible problem might be the durability of this machine. I don’t think it will break, but the build quality on this vacuum is a little sub-par (although, the overall look of the vacuum is quite nice!). Also, like I mentioned earlier – the Bissell ProLite is lightweight, but probably not as lightweight as they suggest. Lastly, it can be a little hard to push on thick carpet. Overall though, I would give this vacuum cleaner a 4/5 star rating.
Finding the best vacuum sweeper wasn’t easy, I have to admit. There seem to be a fair amount of vacuum sweepers available, but a lot of them are just plain junk. I did find two different models which I think are worth purchasing. They both have their good and bad qualities, but in general they do a good job at picking up light dirt around the house. Below are my two top vacuum sweeper picks.
The Dirt Devil Power Sweep BD20020 model makes my list as a best vacuum sweeper. A couple things I really like about this model is that it swivels at the base, it’s lightweight (4 lbs), the battery charge is pretty good and it has an easy empty button at the bottom. The price tag on this one is around $40.
The second one I really like is the Bissell Perfect Sweep Turbo vacuum sweeper. This model actually has a 3 brush system, so you can clean up any floor surface. It can also convert to a hand-held sweeper for tight places and stairs. The one thing that can get annoying is that hair gets snagged in the brush system and you have to clean by hand. However, this is a very common problem with most brush vacuums. This vacuum sweeper also sells for around $40.
The best vacuum under $200 is honestly not that much different than the best vacuum under $100 post I did a few weeks back. However, there is one model I would add to my previous list: the Eureka Boss SmartVac 4870MZ. It’s a little under $150 at WalMart, so it’s well under the $200 level. It has pretty much all you could ask for in a good vacuum cleaner: it’s quiet, has good attachments, is great with pet hair, the suction is great & the roller brush has an on/off switch.
While I think the 4870MZ model is the best vacuum under $200, I would also like to add a close runner up – the Bissell Pet Hair Eraser 3920. It also does great on pet hair and has tremendous suction for a cheaper vacuum. This one is also well under $200. Of course, I also stand by my previous post for the best vacuum under $100 – those 2 models are also great, and cheaper too.
My Bissell 71Y7 review: For the price, I think the Bissell 71Y7 is one of the best vacuums you’ll find. It’s very hard to beat the $39 price tag, and to my astonishment it actually works pretty well. The suction is very good – not a Dyson, but still good. It works great on most floors, although it tends to suck up carpet if it’s too long. Also, it has a harder time picking up crumbs and smaller pieces of dirt on bare floors – but that’s pretty common problem for a lot of vacuums.
I’ve read a few Bissell 71Y7 reviews and most are very positive about this vacuum. The fact that it’s a bagged model is also nice. There seem to be fewer and fewer of those types these days. While I wouldn’t say that the 71Y7 is without faults, I would still give this vacuum cleaner a 4/5 star rating because of the amazingly low price.
My short Bissell Flip-It review: The Bissell Flip-It Bare Floor Cleaner is basically a combo unit. It functions as both a vacuum cleaner and a liquid-dispensing mop. When you have the vacuum side facing upwards, you can tilt the handle and suck up small debris, etc. Then, once you’re done vacuuming, you flip it to the other side and tilt the handle and it becomes a wet mop. There is also a trigger you can pull to release soap/liquids. It’s definitely an ingenious idea, but I’m only somewhat impressed – let me explain.
The Bissell Flip-It, when used as a vacuum, is nothing more than your average stick vacuum. It’s OK, but not great. The suction is barely powerful enough to pick up a few Cheerios, so don’t expect to vacuum your whole house with it.
The Flip-It’s mop side is another story. It works really well, and is almost worth buying just for this function. It will clean up your bare floors, and even has a squeegee and suction to dry up the floor as you go along. The Bissell Flip-It is a lot more fun to use than a regular mop/Swiffer.
While I’m not that impressed with the vacuum side of the Bissell Flip-It Bare Floor Cleaner, I still recommend this little combo unit because of it’s wet mop side. And even though the vacuum doesn’t work very well, you can just consider it a bonus that comes with the mop.
A vacuum cleaner review of the Bissell Versus Bare Floor vacuum states: “The Bissell Versus Bare Floor vacuum cleaner has really great suction. The first time I used it, I was really surprised considering it’s battery powered. It feels very solidly built as well, which is wonderful considering how cheap it is. The design is pretty unique, with a “V” shaped bottom. It does work pretty well in corners and in other small places though. The hose attachment is also very useful – making this vacuum feel more like a regular upright.
Since the Bissell Versus Bare Floor vacuum cleaner has a unique design, it also takes some getting used to. This doesn’t affect the suction, it’s just a little strange at first. The “V” design actually helps draw dirt into it’s path. The dirt container is pretty small, but it’s easy to empty. I guess you can’t expect a huge container on this small vacuum. Other than those minor issues, I absolutely love it.”
A Bissell Powergroom Pet vacuum cleaner review says: “The Bissell Powergroom Pet 4104 vacuum cleaner is a good buy if you don’t have pets, and a great buy if you do. It’s a nice bagless vacuum, which I prefer. Also, it comes with 3 additional tools: the pet turbobrush, crevice tool and contour tool. The cord is long enough to stretch across an entire room with ease. The hose is long enough to get most of the stairs without moving the vacuum up. I would say it does best on carpets, but it can also clean up bare floors alright.
The Bissell Powergroom Pet vacuum cleaner only costs around $170. I think it’s a great buy for the price, but if it were much more I don’t think I would have gotten it. It sucks up pet hair and other dirt just fine, but the suction definitely doesn’t compare to a Dyson or high-end Hoover. I like how Bissell made the belts & dirt container easy to change. Overall, I’d recommend this vacuum.”
A user’s Bissell 1200B SpotBot compact deep carpet cleaner review says: “The Bissell 1200B SpotBot compact deep carpet cleaner does a good job at cleaning your carpets, however it’s quite labor intensive. I know the company advertises the machine as being super simple to use, but just beware that you’ll get a workout if you’re cleaning up a big mess. That being said, it does do a good job and get most tough spots out.
The Bissell cleaner liquid is very expensive. You can easily concoct your own if you know how. Also, I wish the thing had a dryer. It would be very useful if you could dry the spot after washing it clean. I’m sure a lot of carpet cleaners don’t have one, but it’s sure handy. So, overall the Bissell 1200B SpotBot compact deep carpet cleaner is a good buy. I wish they would fix those few things, but still it is worth the money.”
A user’s Bissell 9500 ProHeat 2X CleanShot upright deep cleaner review says: “The Bissell 9500 ProHeat 2X CleanShot upright deep cleaner assembles pretty easily out of the box. It takes about 10 minutes, even for novices like me. The machine is solidly built, even though most if it is made of plastic. It gives you the carpet cleaning options of “heavy traffic”, “light clean”, “normal clean” & “water rinse” – which is nice since some areas are a lot worse than others. Also, if don’t like using the chemical solutions, you can put it whatever cleaning liquid you like. The TurboBrush attachment works superbly on stairs & other hard to reach areas. The unit is also not too heavy, so even a smaller person could maneuver this thing pretty easily.
The biggest “issue” with this carpet cleaner is how expensive it is. There are quite a few cheaper cleaners out there, but I’m doubt they would do as good of a job. Another thing they could have done better with the Bissell 9500 ProHeat 2X CleanShot upright deep cleaner is gotten better suction. It doesn’t leave the carpets sopping wet or anything, just a little damper than I’d like. You may have to go over the carpet several times to get it dry enough. Overall, I’m glad I bought this unit though.”
A user’s Bissell 3910 Momentum Bagless Upright Vacuum Cleaner review says: “The Bissell 3910 Momentum Bagless Upright Vacuum Cleaner is wonderful for the price. In fact, this machine picks up dirt just as good as our vacuum that cost us a few hundred more dollars. I love the long cord on this thing as well, it allows you to clean up quicker. Also, the hand-held brush attachment works great for smaller, harder to reach areas – and stairs.
It is a bagless vacuum, however you only have one filter to change. Cleaning out the dirt canister is very easy and not too messy either. The one thing that the Bissell 3910 Momentum Bagless Upright Vacuum Cleaner could be improved on is its suction abilities on hardwood floors and tile. It does a lot of scattering around instead of sucking up. But anyway, it’s still a great vacuum.”
A user’s Bissell 35766 CleanView II Plus Upright Bagless Vacuum Cleaner Review says: “The Bissell 35766 CleanView II Plus Upright Bagless Vacuum Cleaner is a wonderful vacuum. It did what it was advertised to do. I bought this vacuum for my apartment in NYC with two additional roommates. I have wood floors all through the residence. And I found that this vacuum is a bit too much for it. I learned that this kind of vacuum is superb for carpets and rugs. It still did its job well on uncovered floors. All the machinery worked well, and the attachments are pretty practical.
The Bissell 35766 CleanView II Plus Upright Bagless Vacuum Cleaner is a great vacuum and I suggest it to those who have carpeted apartments. For those of us with wood floors or in a roommate situation, this is not the best vacuum to have. In fact it’s best to avoid bag-less vacuums. If that’s the case, go for the more conventional bag vacuum, you can all (roommates) divide the price for the bags.”
A user reviews the Bissell 3920 Pet Hair Eraser Upright Vacuum Cleaner: “The Bissell 3920 Pet Hair Eraser Upright Vacuum Cleaner seems to do the job much better than the Dyson Animal. Although the unit is quite bulky, and requires some assembly (the instructions were a joke), I have much cleaner floors as a result. And my biggest peeve about the Dyson was that, after paying all that money for a product that was called “The Animal,” I still had to pay an extra $69 for the pet hair attachment!
As for the Bissell 3920 Pet Hair Eraser Upright Vacuum Cleaner, it comes with all of the attachments that you will ever need, and did a great job on my upholstery as well as my carpets. Although the hose isn’t as long as the Dyson, I was able to clean everything that I needed to clean without any setbacks. Simply put, my Bissell 3920 Pet Hair Eraser Upright Vacuum Cleaner does a better job than the Dyson Animal, plus I have an extra $300 in my pocket.”
