A Kirby Sentria vacuum review states: “The Kirby Sentria vacuum cleaner works like none other. It’s absolutely the best, that is if you can afford the steep price. But, in this case it is worth every penny. You can buy it cheaper online than if you have a sales person show up at your door (try Amazon). Plus, there are a fair amount of people selling them slightly used.
The suction on the Kirby Sentria vacuum (G10) is amazing. The auto drive feature is great, you almost don’t even have to push the machine to move it along carpets. I really love the attachments that come with it. It’s pretty much like an all-in-one upright, canister, stick & carpet cleaner. Although, the carpet cleaning part isn’t the best I’ve seen.
One thing I don’t like is how heavy it is. It’s hard to drag up and down stairs, or even all over the house. Also, if you don’t want to use it as an upright, you’ll have to take off the front peice and latch the attachments to the hose. It’s kind of a pain to do. The Kirby Sentria vacuum is definitely worth the money, and should last a very long time.”
Since the Hoover Platinum Collection of vacuum cleaners just came out, you may be wondering if any of them are worthwhile. The short answer is yes, but let’s take a look at each individual item and see what features may be worth the money. The most popular of the Hoover Platinum Collection are the LiNX BH50010 cordless stick vacuum & BH50015 handheld vacuum. They actually have very good suction, are lightweight & are very attractive. On the negative side though, the battery life is pretty dismal. I can’t say they are any worse than other cordless competitors, but the 15 minutes of run time isn’t wonderful. Other than that, they are a super buy.
The Hoover S3865 Cyclonic Bagless Canister is basically the same as previous Hoover canister vacuums, but with a new exterior. It does have Windtunnel technology & have great suction, so some users will definitely find this unit worth the money. However, you may just want to buy an older model if you’re looking to save money.
The Hoover UH70015 Cyclonic Bagless Upright vacuum is quite a looker. I think it is comparable to most Dyson’s as far as suction & looks go. Hoover did a good job at updating this one. It also has Windtunnel technology and a HEPA filter. It runs about $400, but has a 6 year warranty.
The Hoover UH30010COM Lightweight Bagged Upright with Canister is actually a decent combo. They compliment each other well, because the upright can vacuum your floors, while the canister can clean the harder to reach areas. It takes up a little more room to store both of them, but if you can’t decide between an upright and a canister – this may be the combo for you.
The Hoover F8100900 Carpet Cleaner rounds out the Platinum Collection of vacuum cleaners. It features an LED light and MaxExtract technology to help you get the most dirt out of your carpets. As with most carpet cleaners, it costs a good amount of money. If you need to constantly clean your carpet, it’s a good buy. However, if you just occasionally need a cleaning, you should probably just rent a unit from Wal-Mart.
Hopefully this rundown helps you pick out the best Hoover Platinum Collection vacuum for your needs.
A user’s Bissell 9500 ProHeat 2X CleanShot upright deep cleaner review says: “The Bissell 9500 ProHeat 2X CleanShot upright deep cleaner assembles pretty easily out of the box. It takes about 10 minutes, even for novices like me. The machine is solidly built, even though most if it is made of plastic. It gives you the carpet cleaning options of “heavy traffic”, “light clean”, “normal clean” & “water rinse” – which is nice since some areas are a lot worse than others. Also, if don’t like using the chemical solutions, you can put it whatever cleaning liquid you like. The TurboBrush attachment works superbly on stairs & other hard to reach areas. The unit is also not too heavy, so even a smaller person could maneuver this thing pretty easily.
The biggest “issue” with this carpet cleaner is how expensive it is. There are quite a few cheaper cleaners out there, but I’m doubt they would do as good of a job. Another thing they could have done better with the Bissell 9500 ProHeat 2X CleanShot upright deep cleaner is gotten better suction. It doesn’t leave the carpets sopping wet or anything, just a little damper than I’d like. You may have to go over the carpet several times to get it dry enough. Overall, I’m glad I bought this unit though.”
