Since the Hoover Platinum Collection of vacuum cleaners just came out, you may be wondering if any of them are worthwhile. The short answer is yes, but let’s take a look at each individual item and see what features may be worth the money. The most popular of the Hoover Platinum Collection are the LiNX BH50010 cordless stick vacuum & BH50015 handheld vacuum. They actually have very good suction, are lightweight & are very attractive. On the negative side though, the battery life is pretty dismal. I can’t say they are any worse than other cordless competitors, but the 15 minutes of run time isn’t wonderful. Other than that, they are a super buy.
The Hoover S3865 Cyclonic Bagless Canister is basically the same as previous Hoover canister vacuums, but with a new exterior. It does have Windtunnel technology & have great suction, so some users will definitely find this unit worth the money. However, you may just want to buy an older model if you’re looking to save money.
The Hoover UH70015 Cyclonic Bagless Upright vacuum is quite a looker. I think it is comparable to most Dyson’s as far as suction & looks go. Hoover did a good job at updating this one. It also has Windtunnel technology and a HEPA filter. It runs about $400, but has a 6 year warranty.
The Hoover UH30010COM Lightweight Bagged Upright with Canister is actually a decent combo. They compliment each other well, because the upright can vacuum your floors, while the canister can clean the harder to reach areas. It takes up a little more room to store both of them, but if you can’t decide between an upright and a canister – this may be the combo for you.
The Hoover F8100900 Carpet Cleaner rounds out the Platinum Collection of vacuum cleaners. It features an LED light and MaxExtract technology to help you get the most dirt out of your carpets. As with most carpet cleaners, it costs a good amount of money. If you need to constantly clean your carpet, it’s a good buy. However, if you just occasionally need a cleaning, you should probably just rent a unit from Wal-Mart.
Hopefully this rundown helps you pick out the best Hoover Platinum Collection vacuum for your needs.
A review of the Hoover Platinum Collection LiNX cordless stick vacuum says: “The Platinum Collection LiNX cordless stick vacuum cleaner is very easy to use, very portable & is also lightweight. The machine works wonders on hard floors, probably better than my full sized vacuum. Especially when picking up things like pet hair & dirt. Not that it matters much with performance, but I also love the sleek, stylish look of this vacuum.
If you are used to dragging around cords with your stick vacuum, the Hoover Platinum Collection LiNX cordless stick vacuum cleaner will blow you away. The only major problem I have with it being cordless is that the battery drains super fast (as with about any cordless vac you may buy). You’ll need to recharge it after like 15 minutes of hard use. The good part is that it doesn’t take too long to charge, just a couple hours. My suggestion is that you buy a second or third battery from the start. Otherwise, the LiNX cordless stick vacuum cleaner is the best you can buy for that category.”
A user reviews the Black and Decker CFV1200 DustBuster Cordless Vacuum Cleaner: “The Black and Decker CFV1200 DustBuster Cordless Vacuum Cleaner is great because it can work as a stick vacuum or hand held. With it being cordless, it’s a lot more versatile as well. You can get in a lot of hard to reach areas without dragging the cord everywhere. The 12-volt unit has great suction as well. It’s so good that it actually rivals my more expensive upright vacuum. You have to hold it at the right angle to get the best suction – some people complain it won’t pick up anything, and I think this may be the problem. You can also hang it up for easy storage.
On the negative side, it doesn’t hold a charge for very long. This is actually very common for hand & stick vacs. Anyway, the most I’ve gotten out of it is 20 minutes of full powered use. Plus it takes 16 hours to recharge fully. So, you probably won’t be using the Black and Decker CFV1200 DustBuster Cordless Vacuum Cleaner to sweep up the whole house, but it is marvelous at cleaning a few rooms at a time.”
A user reviews the Dirt Devil KRUZ 0313SLV Cordless Floor Cleaner: “The Dirt Devil KRUZ 0313SLV Cordless Floor Cleaner works great at what it’s meant for – light daily cleanings. It has a charger base, so when you’re not using it, it’ll be charging up for the next time you use it. Of course, being a cordless vacuum has it’s benefits and it’s also very light weight. It’s actually pretty fun to run it across the floor, since it glides so easily. Also, the cleaner is simple to clean – you just push a button it it snaps right out.
I do wish it could clean carpet, but it’s just not built for that. It doesn’t pick up any big or slightly heavy items, such as twigs. Also, it would have been nice to have a slightly bigger dirt canister. I really can’t complain too much though, the Dirt Devil KRUZ 0313SLV Cordless Floor Cleaner does exactly what they advertise it to do (and a good job at that).”
A user’s Eureka 96 B Quick Up Upright Cordless Stick Vacuum Cleaner Review says: “The Eureka 96 B Quick Up Upright Cordless Stick Vacuum Cleaner works best for bird seed, dirt, cat litter & all sorts of hair. Basically, it will vacuum up everything that is dry – don’t try to use it with wet spills. Plus, it’s a lot easier to use than a lot of handheld vacs, if you don’t like bending over all the time.
The one drawback for of the Eureka 96 B Quick Up Upright Cordless Stick Vacuum Cleaner is that it’s not as powerful as some of it’s competitors. So, don’t expect it to do your really hard cleaning jobs. It does all light clean up jobs wonderfully though. Oh, and the battery works great for short amounts of time. Don’t expect anything over 20 minutes of hard usage at a time.
You have to keep the dirt cup emptied pretty frequently and also wipe off the filter so it works optimally. It’s not too loud, which is nice. Overall, the Eureka 96 B Quick Up Upright Cordless Stick Vacuum Cleaner is well worth the money.”
A user reviews the Dirt Devil 083414 Extreme Power Stick Vacuum Cleaner: “The Dirt Devil 083414 Extreme Power Stick Vacuum Cleaner does the whole house, is light and does the job. Having just put tile throughout the house, and living with 3 dogs and 2 cats, I hated hauling out our other heavy vacuum and plugging it in. And then unplugging and plugging again and again all the while dragging it around the house. I would heartily recommend the Dirt Devil 083414 Extreme Power Stick Vacuum Cleaner because of it’s ease of use, lack of weight and powerful suction.
The only complaint I could possibly have is that the dirt cup is quite small and has to be emptied frequently. This, of course, would vary depending on how much animal hair accumulates on ones floor.”
A user reviews the Electrolux EL1000B Pronto Stick Vacuum Cleaner: “The Electrolux EL1000B Pronto Stick Vacuum Cleaner has a beautiful design and color that does not need to be hidden away in a closet; it’s almost weightless, cordless, handles like a champ around all corners; plus, the suction power is amazing (almost as good as my $300 Hoover) and the battery life is more than sufficient for a quick sweep.
I hate vacuuming, but this little wonder makes it bearable. Now I can keep my house free of pet hairs and dust without having to pull out that 50 pound torture device called Hoover. I can only recommend the Electrolux EL1000B Pronto Stick Vacuum Cleaner to anyone who hates vacuuming.”
