Eureka Capture Plus Pet Lover Review

Eureka Capture Plus Pet LoverThe Eureka Capture Plus Pet Lover vacuum is a sleek upright model, which definitely caters to animal owners. This model is currently priced around $100, which is pretty reasonable. In this review the Eureka Capture Plus Pet Lover vacuum cleaner we’ll go over the strengths and weaknesses, then decide if it’s a good buy or not. As far as styling goes, it looks nice and is very curvy. However, I’m not sure if everyone will like the bright yellow exterior – although, I don’t mind it. Here’s a quick rundown of the features you’ll find on this unit: a powerful 12 amp motor, flip bottom dust cup, sealed HEPA filtration system, 5 height settings, 30 ft power cord, Pet Power Paw brush, pet hair upholstery and dusting brush, a motorized brush roller with an on and off switch, large rubber wheels, dual-edge cleaners, and a stretch hose. Overall, it’s a good amount of features for a vacuum of this price. However, that doesn’t guarantee they all work well – but, we’ll go into that next.

OK, onto the negative aspects of the Eureka Capture Plus Pet Lover vacuum. Probably the biggest complaint I’ve come across is that it tends to suck stuff up and then shoot it back out the back. Not only that, but it seems to have trouble picking up larger stuff at all. You can disregard one person saying this, but I’ve come across a lot of buyers who’ve had this exact same problem. One thing I do have to mention, it doesn’t seem to have these problems on carpet. In fact it does a very good job on carpet, with the exception of an occasional hair clogging. I wish this model had automatic cord rewind, especially since it’s a longer 30 ft power cord. Lastly, the Eureka Capture Plus Pet Lover vacuum cleaner is a little heavy, so you may have trouble going up and down stairs a lot. Overall, I’m kind of in the middle with this model. I really like some features, but there’s a couple issues that really worry me. With all that in mind, I can only give this model a 3.3 / 5 star rating.

Bissell Rewind SmartClean Review

Bissell Rewind SmartCleanThe Bissell Rewind SmartClean vacuum is an upright model, with a main goal of shortening the amount of time you spend cleaning your house. In this review of the Bissell Rewind SmartClean vacuum cleaner, I’ll go over the strengths and weaknesses of this model, then determine if it actually does save time and if it’s worth the $130 asking price. As far as looks go, I would say it’s pretty average – not a real eye-catcher, but not ugly either. As the name suggests, this model has an automatic power cord rewind. It definitely does save some time over hand winding the cord, so they’re on the right track. Now I’ll take a look at some of the other features this model has: Helix system that removes small dust particles, a HEPA media filter, SmartClean system for better cleaning efficiency, a 15 inch rotating brush, 25 ft power cord, clean filter indicator light, dual edge cleaning, 5 vacuum height adjustments, easy-empty dirt container, headlight, and a few multi-use tools. This is a fair amount of features for a model in the $130 price range. And true to it’s main mission, it does have a couple time-saving features.

OK, onto the negative aspects of the Bissell Rewind SmartClean vacuum. One thing I don’t like is that the brush bar does not have an on / off switch. This can make cleaning up bare floors a bit of a hassle. Also, it seems like the dirt container gets filled up very quickly. I’ve read that this was a problem with a couple other users as well. Another thing is that the cord can seem a little short, especially if you don’t pull it all out before you start cleaning up a big room. Lastly, I wish the Bissell Rewind SmartClean vacuum cleaner had microban protection and a heater, but those are more of a luxury I suppose. All in all, I really do like this little machine. I’m giving it a 4.1 / 5 star rating.

Hoover Windtunnel Pet Bagged Review

Hoover Windtunnel Pet BaggedThe Hoover Windtunnel Pet Bagged vacuum is a nice looking upright model, which is geared specifically towards the multitudes of animal owners. In this review of the Hoover Windtunnel Pet Bagged vacuum cleaner, I’ll go over the strengths and weaknesses of this model – then decide if it’s worth the $150 price tag. As I mentioned earlier, I think the exterior on this unit looks pretty good. But, it doesn’t quite have the finesse of a Dyson. Here’s a quick rundown of the features found on this model: an air powered pet hand tool, pet upholstery tool, a stretch hose with extension wand, a hands off clean-drop bag release system, fingertip power controls, a motorized brush roll with on and off button, 5 height adjustments, 30 ft power cord, HEPA media filter, a headlight and this vacuum also has the patented Windtunnel technology. On paper, this model has almost everything you would need to get that pet hair out of your house. Next, we’ll see if everything works as well as it sounds.

OK, onto the negative aspects of the Hoover Windtunnel Pet Bagged vacuum. First off, when you are using the hand-held pet tool, the stretch hose tends to shrink in size. So in reality, you only have about 6 ft of hose instead of 12. Another thing is that the push button power switch can be a little hard to press. A couple more items I don’t like about this model: you have to buy bags which can get expensive, only one short extension wand is included, and the suction power is just above average. All in all, I do still like the Hoover Windtunnel Pet Bagged vacuum cleaner. There are definitely better models out there, but most of them are double or triple the price of this one. At the $150 price point, you won’t find a much better unit than this – which is why I’m giving it a 4.3 / 5 star rating.

Eureka EnviroVac Review

Eureka EnviroVacThe Eureka EnviroVac vacuum is an upright model designed to produce less waste and also use less energy than the average model. Oh, and they use recycled packaging as well. In this review of the Eureka EnviroVac vacuum cleaner, I’ll go over the strengths and weaknesses of this model, then decide if it’s worth the $55 price tag. Here’s a rundown of the features you’ll find on this unit: extra-long crevice tool and wand, an easy empty dirt cup, washable HEPA filter, a motor that uses 33 percent less energy than typical models, an extra long stretch hose, EZ grip handle, Power Paw with Riser Visor, and an upholstery dusting brush tool. This vacuum actually has a good amount of features for how cheap it is. However, we’ll see if they are worthwhile below.

Alright, onto the negative aspects of the Eureka EnviroVac vacuum. One of the biggest complaints amongst users is that it gets clogged way too easily. The HEPA filter needs cleaned very often as well. Also, the suction isn’t that great and the plastic exterior is cheaply made. In fact, body is so cheaply made that a lot of users have had trouble with different pieces breaking inside and out. It also gets noisier the more you use it – probably from getting partially clogged inside. As you can see, the Eureka EnviroVac  vacuum cleaner is not a favorite amongst its owners. This is unfortunate, because the idea of an environmentally friendly model is a great idea. Overall, I can only give this unit a 2.5 / 5 star rating.

Dyson DC24 Animal Review

Dyson DC24 AnimalThe Dyson DC24 Animal vacuum is an upright model, currently selling for around $450. This model is designed to be super powerful, yet very lightweight. In this review of the Dyson DC24 Animal vacuum cleaner, I’ll go over the positive and negative aspects, then decide if it’s worth spending the extra money on this machine. To make it less heavy, they made this unit a little smaller and kept the design very simple. Here’s a rundown of features you’ll find on this model: ball technology for quick turns, washable lifetime HEPA filter, mini turbine head, an easy empty dirt container, motorized brush roll with on and off switch, certified asthma and allergy friendly, a 20 ft power cord, fingertip controls, and it has a 5 year warranty on parts and labor. Oh, and this vacuum weighs just 11.6 lbs – which is substantially lighter than the original model.

OK, onto the negative aspects of the Dyson DC24 Animal vacuum. First off, the 20 ft power cord is entirely too short. I would have at least liked to have 25 ft, but preferably even 30. Also, the 11 inch cleaning path is pretty narrow – meaning it will take a longer time cleaning large spaces. Another thing is that the hose is pretty short – so it can be hard to reach tall places. Lastly, the Dyson DC24 Animal vacuum cleaner has some trouble with bigger items. Although, you probably wouldn’t want to risk ruining the motor by sucking up something big anyway. All in all, I am a big fan of this new model. I’m giving it a 4.3 / 5 star rating, even though the price is a little more than I would normally spend.

Oreck Edge Review

Oreck EdgeThe Oreck Edge vacuum is a brand new upright model, which is said to be the most powerful and quietest currently made by this manufacturer. In this review of the Oreck Edge vacuum cleaner, I’ll go over this model’s strengths and weaknesses, then decide if it’s worth the nearly $800 price tag. I have to admit, this is probably the most stylish model that this manufacturer makes. OK, here’s a rundown of the best features you’ll find on this unit: a 30 ft power cord, variable speed controls, quick wand tool, a gliding head, HEPA quality filter, a long-lasting belt, it only weighs 13 lbs, and it’s also said to be the quietest and most powerful upright vacuum made by Oreck. Besides those features, you also get a separate hand-held unit included with the purchase. This little unit alone is worth a fair amount of money, and it also comes with a few tools.

Alright, now we’ll move onto the negative aspects of the Oreck Edge vacuum cleaner. To be honest, there is not a lot I don’t like about this model. There are only three things that come to mind: the $800 price, the head is a little too bulky, and the fact that you have to purchase bags. I think the price is going to be way over most people’s budget, and I think it’s just a little too high for what you get. The head is fine in most instances, but it may not fit under low beds or furniture too well. And the fact that you have to buy bags just adds to the cost of owning the Oreck Edge vacuum. Overall, I just can’t help from liking this model though. It’s so beautiful and does an excellent job that I’m still giving it a 4.5 / 5 star rating.

Bissell PurePro Review

Bissell PureProThe Bissell PurePro vacuum is an upright model which is touted as cleaning up the air in your house, as well as the floors. It is currently selling for around $180. In this review of the Bissell PurePro vacuum cleaner, I’ll go over this model’s strengths and weaknesses – then we can decide if it’s worth buying. First off, here’s a quick feature list of what you’ll find on this unit: microban protection, HEPA media filter, powerful multi-cyclonic technology, motorized brush with on and off switch, 15 inch cleaning path, 30 ft power cord, multiple height settings, dual edge cleaning, headlight, turbo-brush, and also an extension wand. This a pretty decent set of features for this vacuum, but not overly impressive.

OK, onto the negative aspects of the Bissell PurePro vacuum. First off, I wish it had an automatic cord rewind feature. I do like the 30 ft power cord, but it can be a pain to wind it all back up when you’re done. The dust cup can be a little messy to empty, unless you’re careful with it. It also does not have a clean filter indicator light or a dirt sensor. The suction is good, but I think there are a couple other models that are better at this price level. Overall, I like the Bissell PurePro vacuum cleaner well enough. I think it is best suited for users with allergens or odors in their house. Overall, I’m giving this model a 4 / 5 star rating.

LG Kompressor Plus LUV400T Review

LG Kompressor Plus LUV400TThe LG Kompressor Plus LUV400T vacuum is a high-end bagless model, currently selling for around $500. I have to admit, it’s one of the better looking models out there. In this review of the LG Kompressor Plus LUV400T vacuum cleaner, I’ll go over the positive and negative aspects of this model, then decide if it’s worth the higher price tag. Here’s a quick rundown of the best features found on this unit: washable HEPA filter, a 40 ft power cord, a detachable wand with 15 ft of reach, four floor height adjustments, a pet hair turbine tool, headlight, powerful dirt compacting technology, plus a couple other useful attachments. There are a couple features on this vacuum that I wish more manufacturers would take notice of – such as the 40 ft power cord and detachable wand. These two features alone make this unit very unique and impressive.

OK, onto the negative aspects of the LG Kompressor Plus LUV400T vacuum. There are just a few things I wish they would change about this model. First off, the suction on carpet is great, but it could definitely be better. Another thing is I wish it were self-propelled. This would really help when pushing it along. Also, the smaller head doesn’t pick up bigger items too well. However, this usually isn’t a problem if you run over it first with the main vacuum cleaner. Lastly, the price is a little higher than I normally like to pay. Overall, the LG Kompressor Plus LUV400T is a superb model. Even though the price is a little high, I think it’s worth every penny. I’m giving this model a 4.5 / 5 star rating.

Hoover Pet Cyclonic Review

Hoover Pet CyclonicThe Hoover Pet Cyclonic vacuum is part of the Windtunnel family, but geared specifically for pet owners. I think the maroon and gray colored exterior looks classy. In this review of the Hoover Pet Cyclonic vacuum cleaner, I’ll go over the best and worst this model has to offer, then decide if it’s worth the $170 asking price. First off, here’s a rundown of the better features found on this unit: a hand-held turbo brush powered by the suction, lifetime HEPA filter, headlight, 28 ft power cord, automatic cord rewind, 1-touch brush roll control, dual stage cyclonic technology, a bottom-release dirt container, wand and stretch hose, 15 inch cleaning path, crevice tool and a dusting brush. This is not a bad set of features on this vacuum, but it’s not overly impressive either.

OK, onto the negative aspects of the Hoover Pet Cyclonic vacuum. First off, the filter can be a little hard to get to and a pain to clean off. Also, I’m not a huge fan of the hand-held turbo brush. Since it’s one of the main selling points of this model, I was hoping it would work spectacularly, but it’s just average in my opinion. Another thing is that it’s a little heavy, especially if you are trying to lug it up and down stairs. It would also have been nice to have an extra extension for the hose. The dirt container can be a little messy to empty as well. Overall, I’m quite impressed with the suction power and ease of use with the Hoover Pet Cyclonic vacuum cleaner. It does have some short comings, but it’s still a pretty good unit. I’m giving it a 3.8 / 5 star rating.

Dirt Devil Power Reach Review

Dirt Devil Power ReachThe Dirt Devil Power Reach vacuum is an upright model with some character and a decent price tag – currently selling for around $90. In this review of the Dirt Devil Power Reach vacuum cleaner, I’ll go over this model’s strengths and weaknesses, then determine if it’s a good buy or if you should pass on it. As I mentioned, I really like the styling on this model. The top part has a little flair out, which almost reminds me of a Dyson. Here’s a quick rundown of the features you’ll find on this unit: a motorized brush roll with adjustable height settings, a crevice tool, stretch hose, dusting brush, back-saver wand, HEPA filter, and an easy-empty canister. The 14 inch cleaning path is pretty handy for bigger rooms. I definitely get the feeling that this vacuum is intended mainly for carpeted houses, with the brush roll and the included attachments.

OK, onto the negative aspects of the Dirt Devil Power Reach vacuum. First off, the stretch hose isn’t long enough and the main unit tips over if you extend it too much. Also, the hose keeps coming off when you are trying to use it. Another thing is that it does horrible on bare floors. I know this model is intended for carpets only, but it’s still annoying if you have a mix of carpet and bare floors. The components also seem a little cheap – but not horrible. Overall, the Dirt Devil Power Reach vacuum cleaner is still a pretty good unit. It has great suction power, and the price is wonderful. I’m giving it a 4.3 / 5 star rating.

Dyson DC33 Multi Floor Review

Dyson DC33 Multi FloorThe Dyson DC33 Multi Floor vacuum is an upright model which boasts superior suction power and the ability to work on any floor type. In this review of the Dyson DC33 Multi Floor vacuum cleaner, I’ll go over the strengths and weaknesses of this model, then determine whether it’s worth the nearly $400 asking price. As far as looks go, I think this model definitely hits the nail on the head. It’s sleek, stylish and the color combination looks great. Here’s a quick rundown the features you’ll find on this model: a telescoping reach wand, combination and stair tools, a quick-empty dirt container, lifetime HEPA filter, Root Cyclone technology for extra suction power, and this vacuum also has a 5 year warranty. Another thing I really like about this model is that it weighs just over 17 lbs – which isn’t super light, but lighter than a lot of the competition.

OK, onto the negative aspects of the Dyson DC33 Multi Floor vacuum. Probably the biggest drawback of this unit is that it’s not as agile as some of the Ball models. Also, it doesn’t fit under furniture and beds very well. Unfortunately, it’s a little hard to push on thicker carpets, because the suction is so strong. Another thing is that the brush roll switch is in a awkward place – by your feet. Lastly, the price is a little higher than most of it’s competition. However, I know a lot of people won’t have a problem spending a little more money on the Dyson DC33 Multi Floor vacuum cleaner. Even with the few flaws this model does have, I think it’s still a good buy. I’m giving it a 4.3 / 5 star rating.

Eureka Pet Lover Oh! Review

Eureka Pet Lover Oh!The Eureka Pet Lover Oh! vacuum is a fairly small upright model with an attractive design. As the name suggests, this model is definitely geared towards animal owners. In this review of the Eureka Pet Lover Oh! vacuum cleaner, I’ll go over this model’s strengths and weaknesses, then decide if it’s worth the $80 asking price. Here’s a quick rundown of features you’ll find on this unit: a deluxe stretch hose with crevice tool, adjustable height handle, an easy-empty dirt cup, motorized brush roll with on and off switch, charcoal filtration to help remove odors, suction control system, and a pet power paw. The pet power paw is unique to this vacuum, and helps remove pet hair from upholstery, stairs and other areas that it builds up.

Now, onto the negative aspects of the Eureka Pet Lover Oh! vacuum. For one thing, you have to clean out the filter and dirt container after every use, or the suction will go down a lot. Also, I wish the brush bar could be raised or lowered. Another issue is that it picks up short pet hair quite well, but seems to clog up with longer hair. Lastly, some parts of the Eureka Pet Lover Oh! vacuum seem cheaply made – especially the handle seems flimsy when it’s extended. Overall, I’m quite happy with the suction, lower price tag and the Pet Power Paw – they are what make this model worthwhile. So, even with it’s problems, I’m giving it a 4 / 5 star rating.

Dyson DC17 All Floors Review

Dyson DC17 All FloorsThe Dyson DC17 All Floors vacuum is a stylish upright model, which is currently selling for around $450. The platinum color scheme really looks nice. In this review of the Dyson DC17 All Floors vacuum cleaner, I’ll go over the strengths and weaknesses this model has to offer, then decide if it’s worth the higher price. As with most models from this manufacturer, you’re really paying a premium for quality, performance, and even for the name brand. Here’s a quick rundown of the features found on this unit: 35 ft power cord, HEPA filter, mini turbine head, motorized brush roll with fingertip controls, edge cleaning, telescoping wand, certified allergy and asthma friendly, a couple accessories, and a 5 year warranty. Not a bad set of features on this vacuum, but there are some other models from this manufacturer that come with more attachments.

OK, onto the negative aspects of the Dyson DC17 All Floors vacuum. First off, let me state the obvious – the price. I know the suction is tremendous on this unit, but it’s just up to the consumer if they feel like paying a premium for slightly more power than the competition. Also, there are a few users who say it really loses it’s suction strength after a couple years. Another thing is that this model is pretty loud. Lastly, the one negative aspect of having a really powerful suction is that it can be a little hard to push it on thicker carpets. Overall, the Dyson DC17 All Floors vacuum cleaner is good – although, I think the company makes a couple better models. However, this unit cleans well and looks great. You just have to decide if you’re willing to spend the extra money. I’m giving it a 4 / 5 star rating.

LG LUV300B Review

LG LUV300BThe LG LUV300B vacuum is a very stylish upright model, which also goes by the Kompressor Plus name. As it’s name suggests, this model compresses the dirt to hold more. In this review of the LG LUV300B vacuum cleaner, we’ll go over this model’s strengths and weaknesses, then decide if it’s worth the hefty price of nearly $300 (depending on where you buy it). Here’s a rundown of what you can expect to find on this unit: power control settings on the wand, true HEPA filter, Asthma and Allergy Foundation certified, crevice tool and 2-in-1 upholstery tool, 40 ft power cord, pet hair turbine tool, dust compacting technology so you have to empty the dirt container less, and a detachable wand with 15 ft hose. I love all the extra touches they thought of for this vacuum. The 40 power cord and detachable wand are so practical, yet hardly any other model’s have these features.

Now we’ll go over any negative aspects the LG LUV300B vacuum may have. One thing is that it weighs quite a bit, and can be a little tough to push around at times. I also wish it had a light to help reach the darker corners of the house. Another thing is that the smaller head doesn’t pick up any larger items, and will end up blocking the brush bar. Even though the price is a little higher, I don’t think it’s overly much – so I wouldn’t consider that too much of a weakness. Overall, I like the LG LUV300B vacuum cleaner a lot. It has a lot of useful and innovative features, and so I think it deserves a 4.5 / 5 star rating.

Eureka Surfacemax 200 Review

Eureka Surfacemax 200The Eureka Surfacemax 200 vacuum is a fairly inexpensive upright model, which is currently selling for around $65. While the exterior on this model is nothing special, we’ll review the Eureka Surfacemax 200 vacuum cleaner and see if it is still worth the lower price tag. Here’s a quick rundown of the features you can expect with this model: a telescopic self-cleaning duster, dusting brush, crevice wand, HEPA filter, height adjustment, an easy empty dirt cup, and a 15 inch cleaning path. I also like the fact that this vacuum has a 30 ft power cord, which makes cleaning up bigger rooms easier. I know it’s not a killer feature set, but it at least covers the basics.

Now we’ll go over the negative aspects of the Eureka Surfacemax 200 vacuum. First off, it’s a pain to constantly be cleaning the filters. Sometimes it feels like you spend more time doing this than actually cleaning the floors. Another thing is that it’s a lot heavier than it looks – at just over 20 lbs. I also do not like that you cannot turn the brush bar off. This means it will scatter some dirt around on all non-carpeted floors. The suction power on the Eureka Surfacemax 200 is OK at best. While this is definitely not the best vacuum cleaner out there, it’s by far not the worst either. In fact, if you can get this model when it’s on sale, it wouldn’t be a bad deal. I’m giving it a 3.5 / 5 star rating because of the issues mentioned above.
