The Eureka Whirlwind Plus vacuum is an upright model, which you can buy new for as low as $110. I like that this unit is pretty stylish, because a lot of cheaper models are not. In this review of the Eureka Whirlwind Plus vacuum cleaner, I’ll go over the strengths and weaknesses, then decide if it’s worth buying. Here’s a quick list of the features you can expect to get with this model: a comfort-gripped oval handle, HEPA filter, an easy-empty dust cup, height adjustments, powerful 12 amp motor, 30 ft power cord, turbo Power Paw tool, a 15 inch cleaning path, and a telescoping duster with several attachments. Even though this is a cheaper vacuum, I like the fact that it comes with a fair amount of extra attachments and tools.
OK, onto the negative aspects of the Eureka Whirlwind Plus vacuum. First off, it’s a little heavier than I would have liked – around 20 lbs. Also, since the power cord is longer, an automatic cord rewind feature would have been much appreciated. Another thing is that the brush roll does not have an on and off switch. This can be a real pain for cleaning up bare floors, since a lot of times dust just scatters when you have the brush roll on. Lastly, the Eureka Whirlwind Plus vacuum cleaner has some parts that look cheaply made. I don’t know that they’ll break, but they look kind of flimsy. Overall, I think it’s a fine model, especially in this price range. I’m giving it a 3.9 / 5 star rating, because it has some issues, but it’s still a nice little unit.
